Wasn’t there a highly respected, nationally admired heavyweight in the KMT who once praised Lo as a “universal charger”? By “universal,” they meant that Legislator Lo possesses both competence and virtue — fit to be president, vice president, premier, deputy premier, secretary-general, minister, or even mayor of a certain municipality. And yet, so far, he’s only served as one of more than a hundred legislators — what an injustice!
In this recent recall battle, Lo has proven he is no ordinary figure — a carp leaping over the dragon gate, destined to rise higher. And look how modest he is: he’s only aiming for the KMT chairmanship.
Let’s be clear — the chairmanship today is nothing like the old days. We, the ordinary citizens, surely haven’t forgotten how, before the “Great Recall” vote, every major KMT figure turned out in force. Massive rallies were held (reportedly 160,000 attendees), and the stage was packed with speakers delivering fiery or righteous speeches denouncing the ruling party for bringing disaster to the nation. During every speech, a sea of party elites stood behind the speaker, shouting in unison for dramatic effect.
Strangely, when it was Chairman Eric Chu’s turn to speak, all the backup “cheerleaders” disappeared. There he stood — all alone, hyping himself up, as if he carried a “virus” repelling public support. KMT figures, big and small, seemed to avoid him like the plague. His loyal aide, Lin Tao, must still recall that scene with bitter regret, unable to stomach the humiliation his boss suffered that day.
So when Legislator Lo Chih-chiang humbly sets his sights only on the “cursed” KMT chairmanship, he is truly displaying restraint and patience, biding his time for the future. You and I — everyday citizens — must be curious: since Lo dares not aim for the presidency, then who should take on that role?
Surely, the world would unanimously endorse that glamorous Madam F — she mingles with the elites, tours palaces, lives among opulence, and flips her middle finger like a badge of honor. She can wear lingerie and still grace ministerial halls, looking down on top officials with contempt — now that’s your “hatred index”! No wonder a certain senior KMT commentator spoke of her with utmost admiration, saying she has resolve, insight, and a rare political clarity — a once-in-a-century talent, and the only possible presidential candidate for the blue camp.
Now, we’ve only discussed two “outstanding” figures from the blue camp, and surely members of the “Little Blue Party” (a third party aligned with KMT) must feel overlooked. After all, they too have a wealth of talent! Especially their party chairman — a “Great Wall”-level figure who commands instant respect. Even blades of grass straighten their backs when he walks by; the wind dares not bend them. Now that’s a once-in-a-lifetime leader! So why isn’t anyone supporting him?
Honestly, it’s the chairman’s own fault. If he’s such a “Great Wall” of a leader, why is he fighting over New Taipei City like it’s some petty fiefdom? If you want to compete, go for the presidency — that’s what true heroes do! Otherwise, isn’t he just like Legislator Lo, settling for the KMT chairmanship and swallowing his pride? Wouldn’t chanting “President Huang! Long live President Huang!” warm the hearts of his loyal “grassroots warriors,” pushing them to charge forward again, undeterred?
So we, the humble citizens, must not only support Legislator Lo for KMT chairman, but also extend that logic further — and back Madam F and Chairman Great Wall Huang for President of the Republic of China. They are truly worthy of the role, unmatched in their virtue. As for the remaining, lesser posts — let Taichung’s “mama-san” rack her brains over how to divvy those up.
